And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 The Lord inquired: "Iblis! What is the matter with you that you did not join those who prostrated?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 until the day of a known time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
