Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 And raise the dust in clouds the while, 4 which engulfs the enemy. 5 Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord; 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Does he not know when the contents of the graves are laid bare 9 And all what lies in the breasts is opened – 10 Surely their Lord will be aware of their (deeds). 11

God the Almighty always says the truth.
