The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 and will scatter abroad into fine dust. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruit, 32 unfailing, unforbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have indeed developed these women with an excellent development. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
