The men of the Thicket cried lies to the Envoys 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
