And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them, that it is known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do." 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 (Into whose ears) they pour hearsay vanities, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
