The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
