And [thereafter,] indeed, We assigned unto the children of Israel a most goodly abode, and provided for them sustenance out of the good things of life. And it was not until knowledge [of God's revelation] was vouchsafed to them that they began to hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all on which they were wont to differ. 93 If you are in doubt of what We have sent down to you, then ask those who have been reading the Book (for a long time) before you. The truth has indeed come to you from your Lord, so do not be one of those who doubt, 94 And be not thou of those who deny the revelations of Allah, for then wert thou of the losers. 95 Those against whom your Lord's word has been confirmed will never believe; 96 though every sign come to them, till they see the painful chastisement. 97 Why did no one except the people of Jonah believe (in their punishment before their death) so that they could have benefitted from their faith? When the people of Jonah believed, We saved them from a disgraceful torment in this life and provided them with the means of enjoyment for an appointed time. 98 And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers? 99 It is not for any soul to believe save by the leave of God; and He lays abomination upon those who have no understanding. 100 Say: "Observe all there is in the heavens and the earth." But signs or warnings will be of no avail to those who do not believe. 101 Can such, then, expect anything else [to befall them] but the like of the days of [calamity which befell] those [deniers of the truth] who passed away before them? Say: "Wait, then, [for what will happen] verily, I shall wait with you!" 102 Then we shall save Our Messengers and the believers. It is Our obligated duty, We shall save those who believe. 103
