The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their service, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 We created the human from an essence of clay: 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
