The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto His slave the Criterion (of right and wrong), that he may be a warner to the peoples. 1 He whose is the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and who hath not taken a son, and for whom there is not an associate in the dominion, and who hath created everything, and measured it according to a measurement. 2 Yet they choose beside Him other gods who create naught but are themselves created, and possess not hurt nor profit for themselves, and possess not death nor life, nor power to raise the dead. 3 The unbelievers say: 'This is but a falsehood he has forged? another nation has helped him' So they have come with wrong and falsehood. 4 And they said, “These are stories of the former people, which he has written down, so they are read to him morning and evening.” 5 Say to them, "It has been revealed by Him who knows every secret that is in the heavens and on the earth. Truly, He is most forgiving and most merciful." 6 They also say, 'What ails this Messenger that he eats food, and goes in the markets? Why has an angel not been sent down to him, to be a warner with him? 7 Or (why is not) treasure thrown down unto him, or why hath he not a paradise from whence to eat? And the evil-doers say: Ye are but following a man bewitched. 8 Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way. 9
