In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
SAD. I CALL to witness the admonishing Qur'an. 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed afore them, and they cried when there was not time of fleeing. 3 So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And their leaders launch forth [thus]: "Go ahead, and hold steadfastly onto your deities: this, behold, is the only thing to do! 6 We have not heard of this in the last religion; this is surely an invention. 7 What, out of all of us, has the Remembrance been sent down to him (Prophet Muhammad)' No, they are doubtful about My Remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or do they [think that they] own the treasures of thy Sustainer's grace - [the grace] of the Almighty, the Giver of Gifts? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 [But] there it is: any and all human beings, however [strongly] leagued together, are bound to suffer defeat [whenever they refuse to accept the truth]. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14
