The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
