54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Ha Mim 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 (Muhammad), say, "I am a mere mortal like you. I have received a revelation that your Lord is the only One. So be up-right and obedient to Him and seek forgiveness from Him. Woe to the pagans, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
