We shall make satan the companion of whoever ignores the remembrance of the Beneficent God. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says [to his Qarin (Satan / devil companion)] "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 CANST THOU, perchance, [O Muhammad,] make the deaf hear, or show the right way to the blind or to such as are obviously lost in error? 40 And if We take thee away, We shall surely take vengeance on them. 41 or We show thee a part of that We promised them, surely We have power over them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. You are truly on the right path. 43 And it is undoubtedly an honour for you and your people; and you will soon be questioned. 44 And ask thou Our apostles whom We sent before thee: appointed We gods, beside the Compassionate, to be worshipped? 45
