▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I call the placement of the stars to witness -- 75 And verily that is a mighty oath, if ye but knew! 76 Behold, it is a truly noble discourse, 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 None shall touch it save the purified ones. 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 And make [the thanks for] your provision that you deny [the Provider]? 82 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 83 the while you are helplessly watching that he is on the verge of death, 84 And Our angels are nearer to him than you, but you do not see - 85 Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.) 86 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 there shall be calmness and ease, a Garden of Delight. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 [he, too, will be welcomed into paradise with the words,] "Peace be unto thee [that art] of those who have attained to righteousness!" 91 But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), 92 For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water. 93 And roasting in a Blaze. 94 Most surely this is a certain truth. 95 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty! 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
