By no means! By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 The intercession of their intercessors shall not benefit them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
