Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 storming tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Proceed to that (the Day of Judgment) which you have rejected. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
