The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
