And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand: O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith, for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order. 90 [But] they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses comes back to us!" 91 Musa said: O Harun! what prevented thee, when thou sawest them going astray. 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 Aaron said, "Son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard nor by my head. I was afraid that you would say, 'You have caused dissension among the Children of Israel and did not pay heed to my words.'" 94 Moses said, "What was the matter with you, Samiri?" 95 He replied, "I had the skill (of carving) which they did not have. I followed some of the Messengers's (Moses) tradition, but I then ignored it. Thus, my soul prompted me (to carve a golden calf with an artificial hollow sound). 96 (Moses) said: "Get thee gone! but thy (punishment) in this life will be that thou wilt say, 'touch me not'; and moreover (for a future penalty) thou hast a promise that will not fail: Now look at thy god, of whom thou hast become a devoted worshipper: We will certainly (melt) it in a blazing fire and scatter it broadcast in the sea!" 97 But the god of you all is the One Allah: there is no god but He: all things He comprehends in His knowledge. 98 This is how We relate the former tidings to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him); and We have given you a Remembrance* from Ourselves. (*The Holy Qur’an.) 99 Whosoever turns away from it, upon the Day of Resurrection He shall bear a fardel, 100 They will remain in it forever – what an evil burden it will be for them on the Day of Resurrection! 101 the Day when the trumpet shall be blown: We shall gather all the sinners on that Day. Their eyes will turn blue with terror 102 They will slowly talk to each other and say, "Our life on earth was as short as ten days". 103 We know best what they will say, when their leader most eminent in conduct will say: "Ye tarried not longer than a day!" 104
