Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth did not benefit him in the least, nor did whatever he earned. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 and also his wife who carries the fuel, 4 On her neck shall be a cord of twisted fibre. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
