Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 Urge with your foot; here is a cool washing-place and a drink. 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 45 Assuredly We purified them with a quality most pure, the remembrance of the Abode, 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And make mention of Ishmael and Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. All are of the chosen. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Where they will take their ease, calling for fruits in plenty, and for wine, 51 ۞ And with them are the pure spouses, who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, of single age. 52 This is what they had been promised for the Day of Judgment. 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 This: and verily for the exorbitant there shall be an evil retreat: 55 They will suffer in hell. What a terrible dwelling! 56 This is so! Then let them taste it, a boiling fluid and dirty wound discharges. 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 (Observing their followers advancing to Hell they will say, among themselves: “This is a troop rushing in to you. There is no welcome for them. They are destined to roast in the Fire.” 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they will say, "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we used to count among the wicked, 62 Is it that we mistakenly made fun of them; or have they disappeared from our sight?” 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
