Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
