Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
