Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 Then separate them, one from another, 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We did measure, and We are the Best to measure (the things). 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
