Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 And those that strike violently, 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what day is it timed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 How will you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
