The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
