The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
