۞ O mankind! Ye are the poor in your relation to Allah. And Allah! He is the Absolute, the Owner of Praise. 15 If He will, He can be rid of you and bring (instead of you) some new creation. 16 that is surely no great matter for God. 17 And a bearer of burthen will not bear another's burthen, and if one heavy-laden calleth for his load, naught thereof will be borne although he be of kin. Thou canst warn only those who fear their Lord, unseen, and establish prayer. And whosoever becometh clean becometh clean only for himself; and unto Allah is the return. 18 And the blind and the sighted are not equal! 19 Nor the darkness and the light, 20 Nor is the shadow equal with the sun's full heat; 21 And not equal are the living and the dead! Indeed Allah causes them to listen*, whomever He wills; and you cannot make those who are in the graves** listen. (* Listen to guidance **The disbelievers are referred to as dead, whose fates are sealed.) 22 thou art nothing but a warner. 23 We have sent you with the truth, to give glad tidings and to warn. Never has there been a community to which an admonisher was not sent. 24 If they reject you, so did their predecessors. Messengers came to them with clear signs, with scriptures, and with the enlightening Book, 25 then I seized the unbelievers, and how was My horror! 26
