Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
