The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Terror descends 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Carrying bowls and pitchers – and cups filled with wine flowing before them. 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and extended shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and fruits abounding 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
