And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 “And give me proper fame among the succeeding generations.” 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it shall be said unto them where is that which ye were wont to worship? 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "By God, we were plainly in error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
