And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful? 35 Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know. 36 They have a sign in the night: We withdraw from it the [light of] day -- and they are left in darkness. 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And for the moon We have appointed mansions till she return like an old shrivelled palm-leaf. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And a token unto them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship, 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto whereon they ride. 42 Should We so wish, We can drown them, and there will be none to heed their cries of distress, nor will they be rescued. 43 except Our mercy which could enable them to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 44 When they are told, "Fear ye that which is before you and that which will be after you, in order that ye may receive Mercy," (they turn back). 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes. 50
