No, by the moon! 32 By the night when it departs. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to mortal man 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 about the sinners. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
