The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created the human being 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
