HALLOWED is He who has set up in the skies great constellations, and has placed among them a [radiant] lamp and a light-giving moon. 61 And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude. 62 The worshipers of the Merciful are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them say: 'Peace' 63 And who spend the night before their Lord, prostrate and standing, 64 and who pray: "O our Sustainer, avert from us the suffering of hell - for, verily, the suffering caused by it is bound to be a torment dire: 65 Evil indeed it (Hell) is as an abode and as a place to dwell. 66 who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor miserly but keep the golden mean between the two (extremes): 67 who do not call upon another god with Allah, nor slay the soul which Allah has forbidden except by right; who do not fornicate, for he who does this shall face punishment 68 The punishment shall be doubled to him on the day of resurrection, and he shall abide therein in abasement; 69 Save him who repenteth and believeth and doth righteous work; as for such, Allah will change their evil deeds to good deeds. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. 70 And whosoever repenteth and worketh righteously, then verily he repenteth toward Allah with a true repentance. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat. 73 And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun" (pious - see V. 2:2 and the footnote of V. 3:164)." 74 Those will be rewarded with the highest place (in Paradise) because of their patience. Therein they shall be met with greetings and the word of peace and respect. 75 therein to abide: [and] how goodly an abode and [how high] a station! 76 Say, "What would my Lord care for you, if you do not call on Him. Because you have indeed rejected the truth and His punishment is bound to overtake you. 77
