The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and by the witness (Muhammad) and that which is witnessed (the Day of Judgment), 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – for them are Gardens beneath which rivers flow; this is the great success. 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
