۞ Gather together those who did wrong and their comrades and that which they were wont to worship 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 'But what is the matter with you that you cannot help one another?,'" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: nay! ye yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 [as free of faults] as if they were hidden [ostrich] eggs. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He saith: Will ye look? 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 "Except our first death, and we shall not be punished? (after we have entered Paradise)." 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 On top of it they shall have a brew of boiling water, 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and [now] they make haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
