The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the night when it grows still and dark. 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor has He become displeased, 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 Thy Lord shall give thee, and thou shalt be satisfied. 5 Did He not find you orphaned and shelter you? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient. 8 Therefore, the orphan shalt thou never wrong, 9 and chide not him who asks, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
