The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
