The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
