The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and the drivers driving, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 and have protected it from every rebellious satan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Outcast, and theirs is a constant (or painful) torment. 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 No wonder you are surprised as they laugh with scorn. 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, how can we be raised again, 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 There will only be a single jerk, and they will gape, 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
