S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. I swear by the Quran, which is full of reminders of God, (that you are a Messenger). 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 A group of the pagans walked out of a meeting with the Prophet and told the others, "Let us walk away. Be steadfast in the worship of your gods. This man wants to dominate you. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 What, has the Remembrance been sent down on him out of us all?' Nay, but they are in doubt of My Remembrance; nay, they have not yet tasted My chastisement. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 (As they denied Allah's Message) they will be a defeated host like the confederates of the old times (who were defeated). 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 None of them was such that it did not deny the Noble Messengers, therefore My punishment became inevitable. 14
