The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Who will be honoured 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 On couches in wrought with gold. 15 reclining upon them, facing one another [in love]. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
