Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 noble, writers 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Verily, the Abrar (pious and righteous) will be in delight (Paradise); 13 And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 What do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
