The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
