And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 Thereupon, Abraham said: "Have you seen (with your eyes) those whom you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Surely they are enemies to me, but not (so) the Lord of the worlds; 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 and Himself gives me to eat and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 But to him who comes to God with a tranquil heart." 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And the Fierce Fire shall be made apparent unto the seduced ones. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 “By oath of Allah, we were indeed in open error.” 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
