Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
