The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He has created man: 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
