The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 Recall, when their brother Lot said to them: "Have you no fear? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Go ye in, of all creatures, unto the males? 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
