He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 And make my mission easy. 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 And let him share my task, 32 “In order that we may profusely proclaim Your Purity.” 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. 36 We had already shown you favor 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 Said Firaun, “What is the state of the former generations?” 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
