The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
